FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT COMMISSIONS

Please read this entire FAQ before submitting an Inquiry!

//PREAMBLE

FIRST RULE
Submitting an inquiry does not automatically mean your commission will be accepted. There are some projects which are beyond my resources or schedule. I will let you know of our decision within the week. Thus far I have been able to acommodate 95% of all inquiries.

SECOND RULE
Before work shall commence you will be required to sign (e-signature) a contract. It's a basic run-down of the item(s) you commissioned, payment & shipping details, and other pertinent information. The reason for drafting a contract is to ensure that we're both on the same page and know exactly what is expected of either party.

CAN I COMPETE IN SOMETHING YOU MADE?
Please do NOT compete in contests with any costumes and or accessories I provide. It's very dishonest and frowned-upon to deceive others claiming commissioned work is your own whether verbally or passively by not stating it is made by someone else. Generally the internet calls these people out too.

WHAT KIND OF WORK CAN YOU DO?
Costumes, accessories, jewelry, props, wig styling.

SIZING
All costumes are tailored to fit your measurements. See the above chart. It's a good idea to get someone to help measure yourself. Hold the tape firmly and don't pull it too snug! Do not add inches to your measurements - we automatically allow space for a comfortable fit.

Accuracy is a must if you want your costume to fit. To avoid shenanigans, please provide your real measurements. I'm not here to judge, I want you to be happy with your costume.

MATERIALS
I only use high quality materials with the best color match, the same types that I use for my own work. Please note that I do not own a warehouse or a sweatshop so I am at the mercy of the markets and their limitations. As such, quotes are valid for 30 days. Any time there is a deal on raw materials, I pass the savings on to you. My aim is, as always, to recreate garments, props, wigs, and accessories with utmost accuracy. If you already have the perfect materials for your commission, let me know. Arrangements can be made so that you may ship them here (at your own cost).

REFERENCE PICTURES
As much as I'd love to be familiar with all source materials, I am not. Unless I've already made the costume for someone else, you must send clear reference pictures of your character from a variety of angles. (Front, back, sides, close-ups, etc).

WHY CHOOSE YOU?
1. I don't overbook - this allows me to focus my attention on your costume.
2. US-based. You're responsible for the exact shipping costs plus insurance to your area, no ridiculous shipping inflation.
3. Communication is a big part of the business. I stay in contact throughout the commission.

DO YOU TAKE RUSH ORDERS?
No. I work by myself and hold a full-time job. A minimum of 4 weeks is required for costumes (after payment has been received) so please plan ahead. Props, jewelry, and accessories usually require 2 weeks.

DEADLINES
Please let me know if you have deadlines or events you plan to wear something to and be specific.
"I need this for Otakon!" isn't as helpful as "I would like to get this by June 14th in time for Otakon!"

//SHIPPING AND PAYMENTS

HOW AND WHERE DO YOU SHIP?
I ship costumes and accessories worldwide. I cannot ship items resembling weapons outside the United States for security reasons. You are responsible for the shipping cost which include tracking and insurance. I will provide shipping quotes with various methods for you to choose from. Most clients are happy with First Class shipping via the USPS.

PAYMENTS
After sending an initial inquiry, we will send you a quote for the goods and provide you with shipping options. At this point you can accept the quote and choose a payment plan:

a. Full payment up front
b. Two Part payment plan - Half the quoted price up front, the remainder of the payment upon completion

PAYMENT METHODS:
Postal money orders, well-concealed cash (sent at your own risk), and Paypal.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT THE COSTUME AFTER I PAID YOU?
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF ANY PAYMENT SENT IN. No cancellations will be accepted once work has begun on the project as we may have already bought materials and turned other projects down to work on yours. Be certain that you want something made before you order. If you opted to do the 2-part payment plan and default on the final payment, you forfeit all rights to it. Future orders will not be accepted.

//POST SALE

I'D LIKE TO SHARE A PHOTO OF MY COSTUME. HOW CAN I ?
I always like seeing my work in action! If you have photos of yourself in costume and would like to have them posted here, let me know! I'll link back to whatever identifier page you request (e.g. deviantart, coscom, myspace, lj).
