Need a
quick, non-cancerous way to get a tan? I'd recommend using the Aveeno
Continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion/Self-Tanner. This allows you to
customize what color you want whether it be a deep tan or just a touch
of sun. Start out lighter than you want, so you can get application
techniques down.
Exfoliate skin in the shower and shave. The smoother your skin,
the better the tan will look.

Don't put anything on your skin e.g. moisturizer
as it
can prevent the self-tanning formula from getting even coverage which
can result in spottiness. Allow skin to dry completely then start
applying using light, circular
motions. Work from head to toes making sure your fingers are closed
tightly (leaving them splayed will lead to streaks).
After you're done, wash hands and scrub them immediately so your palms
and nail beds don't turn dark. Take a lightly dampened washcloth and
buff knees, elbows, around jawbone, ankles, feet, and wrists to avoid
darker lines in places where skin naturally creases.
If you made a mistake, buff skin with a handful of table sugar and add
a teaspoon of lemon juice to help erase self-tanning streaks. |
